About Us
Who’s Busch Family Farm?
We are a local grower of flowers and botanicals that sells direct to retail so we can provide the freshest and superior quality flowers in our service area. In our 15 acres of greenhouses.
Busch Family Farm has a long history of providing the freshest, locally grown flowers to our customers.
1800s
The Busch Family immigrated to the United States from Germany in the 1800’s. Fred Busch began growing vegetables on Lyndale Avenue in Minneapolis.
1920
Then, in 1920, Bill, Fred, and Barney Busch, the second generation, moved the business to Golden Valley, Minnesota. There, they began growing flowers as well. Sixteen years later, Len Busch was born. He worked with his family at Busch Brothers for most of his childhood.
1965
After earning his degree in Floriculture at Ohio State University, he left Busch Bros in 1965 to start his own venture in Plymouth, MN. He began growing pompons in a modest 28,000 sq. foot greenhouse and it wasn’t until 1969 that he started growing roses.
Today
Today the business is led by Len’s son, Patrick Busch. He and his wife Diana along with their four children play an active role in the family business. Their hope is to one day have another generation of Busch’s to carry on the business.
The Present
People buy flowers to add beauty to their homes and offices and to convey emotions to their loved ones. We are devoted to providing our customers with flowers that do this exceptionally well.
The Busch Flower Farm flowers are grown to be the best quality, locally grown flowers that could be produced. This philosophy has been core to our business and still is today. Now, almost fifty years later, the crops have changed but the focus on quality has not! Today, we produce Alstroemeria, Lilies, Tulips, Snapdragons, Gerberas, and Potted Flowering plants.
